Training is the most crucial aspect of building any successful business. And it’s no different with network marketing. Without the right training you won’t have the knowledge to grow a successful business. And instead, you’ll be wasting your time with bad programs, getting absolutely nowhere.
The Training Program Basics
Before you learn what to look for in a good training program, you’ll need to know the basics. All training programs should teach you 3 basic skills to grow your network marketing business.
These 3 skills are:
Finding: Finding people (prospects) that are interested in your network marketing product/business.
Selling: Selling your product or business to a prospect.
Training: Training your business builders to build a business of their own, the same way you do.
All Training Programs Are Not Created Equal
Most, if not all training programs teach you these 3 basic skills. But the key to finding a good program is to weed out the bad programs from the good ones. And in order to do this, you’ll need to evaluate each program based on what each one teaches you.
The 3 Keys to Finding A Successful Training Program
When evaluating a training program, you should be able to answer yes to these 3 questions:
- When finding prospects, do they come to you?
- Can you leverage your time by selling to multiple prospects at once?
If a training program doesn’t have all 3 of these factors, then you shouldn’t even consider using that program.
Why are these 3 factors so important?
- If prospects don’t come to you, then 99% of the time they aren’t even interested in what you have to say, let alone what you’re selling. It’s always easier to sell to someone if they contact you first, than if you were to approach them.
- Think about it, when was the last time you bought something from a door to door salesman? Probably never
- Leverage is important because it allows you to put your product/business in front of 1,000’s of people in the same amount of time as it would take you to present them to just 1 person.
- This will allow you to spend less time selling your opportunity and more time helping your downline grow their businesses.
- The most important factor is duplication. Network marketing is about helping your downline become successful. By helping your downline build their businesses, their downlines will grow.
- And in return, your downline will grow. This will increase the amount of money you make; it’s a win win situation. But if your downline can’t duplicate your success, then they won’t make any money and they’ll all eventually quit.
- Here’s an example. If you spend $1,000 each month on leads, most people aren’t in a financial situation to duplicate that, thus your downline won’t grow.
By using a network marketing training program based upon these 3 factors, you’ll spend less time using bad programs that don’t work. And you’ll spend more time growing your business with a system that will give you the best possibility of success.
There are a ton of ways to go. But, the best way that I’ve found is by giving your prospects something of value first. And this can be done by giving away ebooks or email reports.
Instead of asking them to join your opportunity, educate them. Tell them some of the ‘do’s’ and ‘don’ts of network marketing. Help them incorporate a business name, for the tax savings. Here’s a great one, give them a phone script and rebuttals to common statements their prospects will make.

Ask you upline, or someone in the industry, if they have a 5-7 page report on something that any MLM’er would be interested. Once you have it, post an ad on Craigslist, offering a … Free Report On How To Create An Effective Phone Script For YOUR MLM opportunity.
In order to get this report, have your prospect reply to your Craigslist ad. Once they reply, attach your ebook and send it to them … with YOUR contact information (name, phone number, etc.) Tell them if they have any questions, be sure to contact you.
You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the number of people calling YOU, wanting to know what company you work with. The reason they’ll want to know is because if you’re that helpful to a total stranger, imagine how help you’d be when they join your downline/team!
